Reflecting on Career Journey: Revisiting the Decision that Shaped Me
Hey Friends,
It’s my first work anniversary. As I sit here and reminisce, I can’t help but think about the pivotal moment in my life when I decided to switch careers, and how it has shaped my journey over the past couple of years.
Do you remember when we were in college and covid struck us, causing lockdown? It feels like just yesterday. I was at a crossroads, uncertain about the path ahead. That’s when I made the daring decision to transition from computer engineering to UX design. It was a bold move, driven by a deep desire to align my skills and passions.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve gained a year of experience in the industry. It’s been an incredible ride filled with growth, challenges, and valuable lessons.
Reflecting on our career choices is essential for personal and professional growth. It helps us understand whether we made the right decision, reaffirms our commitment, and allows us to identify areas for improvement. It’s a chance to take a step back, learn from our mistakes, and find renewed motivation to push forward.
So, I’ve been taking some time to reconnect with the reasons behind my career switch, reminding myself of the passion that ignited this journey and growing from the mistakes I made in the past. I’ve been revisiting the challenges and failures I encountered, using them as stepping stones to drive me towards success because I believe in connecting the dots while looking back and trying to build a base out of it. It’s a process of self-reflection and self-improvement that we all need occasionally.
I believe that revisiting our career decisions can reignite the fire within us. It helps us understand why we should continue working harder, how we can refine our skills, and what steps we can take to create even better outcomes. It’s an opportunity to evolve, adapt, and ensure that our chosen path aligns with our true aspirations.
